In 1976, Swipha was incorporated by F. Hoffmann-La Roche, Switzerland to produce and market high quality medicines supplying Nigeria and West Africa. 

In 1999, Swipha brand was launched as a premium branded generic offering affordable high-quality products covering mainly Anti-malaria, CNS, Anti-infectives, Anti-diabetes and Cardiovascular.

In 2008, we were the first Pharmaceutical factory to obtain ISO 9001:2008 certification and currently we are upgrading to ISO 9001:2015.

In 2014, Swipha became the first to obtain the WHO GMP qualification in West Africa and we are currently prequalifying 8 new products with WHO mainly in Antimalarial, Antidiarrhea and Antibiotics.

In 2017, Biogaran / Servier Group acquired Swipha and we have since embarked on a business transformation journey to upgrade our production capacity, expand our portfolio and distribution coverage in Nigeria and Africa.
